Visakha and Visakhians

Supporting Visakha and Visakhians

We have contributed to several projects at Visakha. At the first meeting in 1982, we made a collection of £200 for the Jeremias Dias Hall, and in 1983 a further £500 was given to the same project.

Subsequently we contributed to the refurbishment of the library and upgrading the Home Science Department.

  • Donated £3,600 for the Science Laboratory
  • New Gymnasium received £2,017 in 1995
  • The start-up costs of £4,000 for the construction of an IT Department , needed to enhance computer literacy were borne by us in 1997.
  • £1,200 was given for instruments for the School Band.
  • The Bouganvillea Project provides a recreational area,a ‘quiet’ room for reading and a dining area/restaurant. This was a much needed facility enabling pupils to get together and interact. We are happy to have contributed £10,500 in 2001 towards this building.
  • Provided computers at a cost of £3,500 in 2006.
  • Contributed £5,000 towards the construction of a new swimming pool in 2007.
  • The hostel kitchen was refurbished at a cost of £12,000 in 2008.
  • 17 computers were purchased for £4,800 in 2012.

As at 31 Jan 2018 we have donated over £42,000 to projects at Visakha
