PPAV religious activities

All our activities are underpinned by the religious & cultural values of our school. At the inception itself we looked to the London Buddhist Vihara for advice and support.

We start the year with a religious activity to mark the Founder’s Day. We had Sil campaigns, meditation events, bakthi gee, Buddha Pujas, and Alms givings to celebrate Vesak, Poson and Sangamiththa days. There have also been Dhamma discourses which were recorded on to CDs and distributed free of charge.

We have had various events at London Buddhist Vihara, Amarawathi Buddhist Monastery, Thames Buddhist Vihara, Sri Saddhatissa International Buddhist Centre, East London Buddhist Cultural Centre and Mahamevuna Bhavana Asapuwa.

We also sponsored an all night pirith ceremony at the London Buddhist Vihara.

We published a translation of the Dhammapada by Thannissaro Bikkhu, to commemorate 2550 years  of Buddhism. We distributed this book free not only in the UK and Sri Lanka but also worldwide through the Visakha network.
