On Sunday 19th January 2020 the PPAV UK held a novel fundraising event, a Quiz Afternoon. It was held at the Civil Service Club in London and was hosted by the TV presenter and comedian Mark Dolan.

This was an eagerly anticipated event, though one team was rather apprehensive as none of them had attended a quiz event before. They were very surprised not only at how much they enjoyed the quiz but also at how knowledgeable they were!!

The afternoon commenced with a delicious Sri Lankan meal. Then it was time to get our thinking caps on. Our host was very entertaining as he tested our knowledge on various topics with amusing anecdotes in between.

The leaderboard kept changing along with the rounds and it was a close fought event but in the end ‘Six of the Best’ triumphed with ‘Brain Dead’ being pipped into 3rd place by just 1 point by ‘V -Sons’. 

There were a couple of group participation games between the rounds to keep us all entertained and to raise a few extra pounds for our very worthy cause.

Everyone enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the light hearted spirit of the afternoon, answering questions in teams and joining in the games.

The afternoon concluded with the school song and the National Anthems.
